About Us drug rehab in the Philippines

OUR VISION

“The leading rehabilitation facility in Asia using the Therapeutic Community modality in providing the most comprehensive family and values oriented treatment program.”

OUR MISSION

We are committed to re-build broken lives by providing a healthcare-oriented and nurturing environment for social learning, personal growth and enhancing family relationships as our contribution to our community and to humanity.”

SEAGULLS FLIGHT BACKGROUND

Seagulls Flight Foundation, Inc. was inspired by the story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, a seagull who became an outcast for wanting to fulfill the “impossible dream” --- to fly. Just like Jonathan, Seagulls Flight is living its dream -- to mend broken wings, rebuild family ties, and put back the pieces of people who have once or twice lost their way.

Seagulls was born in a house in Guinhawa South, Tagaytay City. A residential treatment and rehabilitation center for substance dependents. It was founded by Mr. Eddie Castillo, a recovering substance dependent himself, and co-founded by his better half, Ms. Chit Cambe - Castillo, a Human Resource Practitioner in 1998. Our humble beginnings meant a modest house, limited resources and a tight budget. It was a long journey of triumphs and adversities. Little by little, day by day, year after year, the modest house slowly turned into a home of recovery and healing --- moreover, as most families would say, a SCHOOL OF LIFE.

THE SEAGULLS FLIGHT CONCEPT

SFFI adopts and practices the THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY (TC) treatment modality – a drug-free self-help program set within a highly structured family environment where positive peer interaction is encouraged and emphasized. The primary goal of TC is to foster personal growth. This is accomplished by changing an individual’s lifestyle through a community of concerned people working together to help themselves and each other. It proceeds from the premise that man is not fragile – he can and should be confronted with his condition and challenged to grow into maturity and responsibility.

SFFI MANAGEMENT TEAM

SFFI takes pride in having rare breed of people who have dedicated their time and lives in reaching out to help save lives and families. The Treatment Team is a competent mix of professionals - doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers and human resource practitioners, workers in allied professions and of recovering drug dependents who have completed the Seagulls’ treatment program and have decided to give back to their younger brothers and sisters in treatment.

TERESITA CAMBE – CASTILLO ( Executive Vice-President). The better half of Ed, “Ate Chit,” as she is better known to the Seagulls Family, is a Psychology graduate with postgraduate studies in Personnel and Human Resource Management and Masters in Business Administration. She is currently taking up her Master in Arts, Major in Psychology in Southville International School and Colleges. As a Human Resource practitioner, she held key positions in several multinational corporations before finally deciding to go full time with SFFI to handle its Human Resources and Special Services Division. She was responsible for establishing order and system in the overall operations of the center during its initial years of operation. She started the T-Group with a few spouses of the residents but now alternately co-facilitates it with Ed and other Seagulls’ Staff. She has been to DAYTOP Village in New York and underwent immersion in the TC program in Meadowrun, Rhinebeck, NY, one of Daytop’s adult facilities.

DIONISIO TAN, JR. The man who like Jonathan Livingston Seagull, chose to take the road less traveled and became another "Jonathan" for others. An Engineering undergrad and an entrepreneur who had his own business before getting into treatment, “ Kuya Jun “ is currently Seagulls' Assistant Program Director. He started with Seagulls initially only as a volunteer for the “ Higher Ground Adventure “ until he was asked to join Seagulls’ as a full time staff. He works to put into practice what he had learned in the TC program and help others who have the same experience as his. He believes that "You can't keep it unless you give it away."

CHRISTIAN G. IGTIBEN - Seagulls Assistant Admin. Director. “ Kuya Christian “ as he is known in the facility is also a recovering addict. After his graduation from his program has a degree in Business Administration, which aids him in his management responsibilities in the facility. He chose to work in a rehabilitation facility because he finds his job fulfilling; saving lives of people like him who were ones lost and hopeless.

DAISY S. DELOS REYES - A Psychology graduate from the Philippine Normal University and a licensed secondary education teacher, “ Ate Daisy “ is our Senior Clinical Staff. She plays the big sister to all the residents with her caring and nurturing ways but can equally be firm as she can give “ tough love “.
